FULANI BATTS was born in Buffalo, N.Y. October 2, 1978. She developed a passion for poetry at the age of nine. Later, while attending Turner Carroll High School, her English teacher Mr. Mattimore helped by critiquing one of her poems Open Hands. This poem was than included in Fulani's book, The Blooming Rose in 2005.
After it was published she met a wonderful staff from the Western New York Minority Media Professionals. She was amazed at how smoothly and efficiently they conducted business.
Fulani has written articles for online publishing sites and continues to reside in Buffalo, where she is currently working on lyrics.
